Everything went according to plan in Torun where second ranked WKS Slask (16-5) beat bottom-ranked Twarde Pierniki (4-16) 83-74 on Sunday. They outrebounded Twarde Pierniki 34-23 including 22 on the defensive glass. WKS Slask looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Jeremiah Martin (189-1996, college: Memphis) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Belarusian center Artsiom Parakhouski (211-1987, college: Radford) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). WKS Slask's coach Ertugrul Erdogan allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Tayler Persons (191-1995, college: Ball St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 assists and the other American import guard Sterling Gibbs (188-1993, college: UConn) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Stal. Twarde Pierniki lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. WKS Slask will meet at home MKS DG (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Twarde Pierniki will play against Legia (#6) and hope to secure a win.
