There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Brindisi (11-9) smashed on the road one of their biggest challengers Pesaro (11-9) 100-70 on Sunday. Brindisi dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Pesaro's 34 and made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Pesaro 41-30 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard DAngelo Harrison (193-1993, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Jason Burnell (201-1997, college: JSU) who added 11 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Brindisi's coach Francesco Vitucci felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Serbian-Canadian center Dejan Kravic (210-1990, college: Texas Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian Carlos Delfino (198-1982) scored 16 points. Five Brindisi and four Pesaro players scored in double figures. Brindisi have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Pesaro. Brindisi will meet at home league's leader Milano in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Pesaro will play against Varese and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
