Regular Season Round 29: UMCS Start - Opole 73-101

There was no surprise in Lublin where 18th ranked Start 2 (1-29) was crushed by seventh ranked AZS PO (17-13) 101-73 on Sunday. AZS PO dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Start 2's 32. AZS PO forced 20 Start 2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Start 2's players. Adam Kaczmarzyk (198-1988) stepped up and scored 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Michal Kroczak (190-2000) chipped in 22 points. Four AZS PO players scored in double figures. Sebastian Walda (196-2000) responded with 26 points and 6 rebounds and Norbert Ziolko (189-1999) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS PO maintains seventh place with 17-13 record. Start 2 lost their twenty second game in a row. They stay dead last with 29 lost games. AZS PO will meet at home league's leader Gornik in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Start 2 will play against SGH (#13) and hope to win that game.
