Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Lleida (15-7) edged on the road 12th ranked Almansa (6-16) 70-67 on Sunday. Venezuelan forward Michael Carrera (196-1993, college: S.Carolina, agency: BIG) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Portuguese guard Diogo Brito (198-1997, college: Utah St.) supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Even 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Argentinian-Italian guard Mateo Diaz (186-2002) did not help to save the game for Almansa. Jaime Fernandez (208-2000) added 11 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Lleida have a solid three-game winning streak.
