Regular Season Round 24: Armann - Sindri 103-100

The most important game in the last round took place in Reykjavik between third ranked Sindri (15-9) and ninth ranked Armann (7-11) on Monday night. Sindri was edged by Armann in a tough game on the road 100-103. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sindri won fourth quarter 24-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Armann made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Kristofer Gislason (194-1996) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. American center William Thompson (203-1993, college: Felician) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Spanish Ibu Jassey Demba (202-1998, college: UMC) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and Spanish guard Ismael Herrero (188-1996) added 16 points and 8 assists respectively. Four Armann and five Sindri players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Armann maintains ninth position with 7-11 record. Sindri at the other side keeps the third place with nine games lost. Armann are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Thor AK (#10) in Akureyri in the next round. Sindri will play at home against Fjolnir (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
