There was no surprise when 10th ranked Murgi (6-13) was defeated on the road by second ranked La Zubia (13-6) 83-69 on Wednesday. Point guard David Garcia Gazquez (180-1993) fired 15 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Forward Javier Hernandez (201-1993) chipped in 18 points. Four La Zubia players scored in double figures. Angel Rubino (-2000) produced 19 points and 7 rebounds and Portuguese guard Tomas Pereira (190) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. La Zubia have a solid four-game winning streak. Despite that victory La Zubia went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Murgi keeps the tenth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Marbella. La Zubia will meet at home El Pinar (#4) in the next round. Murgi will play against Novaschool (#7) and hope to secure a win.
