Regular Season Round 11: Tbilisi - Basco 65-67

The most exciting game of round 11 in the U18 League took place in Tbilisi. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of second-ranked Tbilisi (7-2) to fourth ranked Basco (4-3) 67-65 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Tbilisi. The guests trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 22-9 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Basco shot 22 for 31 from the free-throw line, while Tbilisi only scored five points from the stripe. Basco forced 27 Tbilisi turnovers. It was a great evening for Lado Sharadze (-2005) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Levan Xabazi (-2005) helped adding 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Basco players scored in double figures. Forward Leri Lobjanidze (195) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) and guard Beka Machavariani (188) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Basco maintains fourth place with 4-3 record, which they share with Zaza. Tbilisi at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Basco is looking forward to face Gori (#7) at home in the next round. Tbilisi will have a break next round.
