Regular Season Round 21: Roseto - RO SAzzurra 62-63

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Roseto (4-16) was edged at home by eleventh ranked RO SAzzurra (7-14) 63-62 on Thursday. North Macedonian forward Matea Nikolic (190-2002, college: Kansas) stepped up and scored 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and naturalized Israeli point guard Giulia Prosperi (180-1997) chipped in 15 points. RO SAzzurra's coach Jonata Chimenti allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Spanish-Argentinian power forward Erica Sanchez (182-1976) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds and Irish-American guard Anna Kelly (169, college: Fordham) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Four Roseto players scored in double figures. RO SAzzurra moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Bolzano BC and Trieste. Roseto lost their fifth game in a row. Roseto at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Cagliari. RO SAzzurra will meet at home higher ranked Matelica (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Roseto will play against San Salvatore (#8) and hope to secure a win.
