Regular Season Round 23: Xirdalan - Zirve 90-85

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Baku: Xirdalan (#3) and Zirve (#7). Xirdalan (14-7) won against visiting Zirve (4-16) 90-85. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zirve. Xirdalan dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Zirve's 36. They outrebounded Zirve 50-39 including 16 on the offensive glass. Xirdalan brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Americans were the main players on the court. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Andrew Corum (201-1997, college: Virginia St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds. Center Andre Adams (206, college: NMHU) accounted for 16 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winning side. Forward Jarrett Henderson (198-1996, college: UWF, agency: Project B Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Russhard Cruickshank (183, college: EKU) added 13 points and 9 assists respectively for Zirve in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Xirdalan have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 14-7 record behind leader Sabah. Zirve at the other side keeps the seventh position with 16 games lost.
