Regular Season Round 22: Zastal - Astoria 98-105

There was an upset in Zielona Gora where higher ranked Enea Zastal (12-10) was defeated by fifteenth ranked Enea Astoria (7-15) 105-98 on Thursday. Enea Astoria made 27-of-30 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Lithuanian power forward Paulius Petrilevicius (204-1991) scored 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Mike Smith (180-1997, college: Michigan) chipped in 25 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side Montenegrin forward Alen Hadzibegovic (207-1999, agency: BeoBasket) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian power forward Aleksandar Zecevic (207-1996, college: FAU) scored 18 points and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Enea Astoria and five Enea Zastal players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Enea Astoria maintains fifteenth position with 7-15 record. Loser Enea Zastal keeps the seventh place with ten games lost. They share the position with Czarni. Enea Astoria will meet at home higher ranked Sokol (#11) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Enea Zastal will play against GTK (#13) in Gliwice and hope to secure a win.
