The game between Top Four teams took place in Keflavik. 3rd placed host Keflavik (12-7) was smashed by second ranked Valur (15-4) 111-80. The game was mostly controlled by Valur. Keflavik was better in second period 29-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for Argentinian-Italian Pablo Bertone (190-1990, college: FAU, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Kari Jonsson (192-1997, college: Drexel) accounted for 28 points and 4 steals for the winning side. Four Valur players scored in double figures. Lithuanian center Dominykas Milka (203-1992, college: St.Rose, NY) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds and guard Halldor Hermannsson (188-1997) added 19 points respectively for Keflavik in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Valur have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 15-4 record behind leader Njardvik. Keflavik lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third position with seven games lost. They share it with Haukar. Valur's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Reykjavik IR.
