Regular Season Round 33: Koping Stars - Sodertalje 89-90

The most exciting game of round 33 in the Basketligan took place in Koping. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 7th ranked Koping Stars (13-16) to eighth ranked Sodertalje (12-16) 90-89 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Koping Stars. The best player for the winners was Serbian Lazar Radosavljevic (204-1991) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. American point guard Josh Sharkey (175-1997, college: Samford) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard KeShawn Curry (195-1998, college: VCU) who recorded 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import power forward Quatarrius Wilson (203-1996, college: SEMO) added 10 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Koping Stars' coach Torbjorn Gehrke rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sodertalje maintains eighth place with 12-16 record. Koping Stars at the other side keep the seventh position with 16 games lost. Sodertalje are looking forward to face higher ranked Umea (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Koping Stars will have a break next round.
