Second Stage Round 8: Kobrat - Lahti 103-112

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Lapua where tenth ranked Lahti (13-17) defeated 9th ranked Kobrat (13-17) 112-103. Kobrat was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Lahti shot 62.7 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Lahti players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Chris Clarke (196-1996, college: Texas Tech) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 14 rebounds and 9 assists. Guard Michael Ertel II (188-1999, college: UAB) contributed with 41 points (!!!) (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field) for the winners. Point guard David Nichols (183-1996, college: FSU) replied with 43 points (!!!) and power forward Javion Ogunyemi (206-1995, college: Siena) added 18 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Kobrat. Four Kobrat players scored in double figures. Lahti have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with defeated Kobrat. Kobrat lost fourth consecutive game. Lahti will play against higher ranked Nokia (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kobrat will play against Honka in Espoo and hopes to get back on the winning track.
