Regular Season Round 33: BC Lulea - Umea 97-79

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Umea (16-12) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked BC Lulea (17-12) 97-79 on Friday. Belgian-American forward Michael Gilmore (208-1995, college: VCU) stepped up and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and point guard Jonatan Arvidsson (184-1998, college: E.Wyoming) chipped in 24 points (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Five BC Lulea players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Bryan Jefferson (201-1994, college: Mary) with 28 points and 6 rebounds and the former international point guard Gustav Hansson (185-1995) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Umea's coach Boris Balibrea tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. BC Lulea moved-up to fourth place. Loser Umea dropped to the fifth position with 12 games lost. BC Lulea will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Umea will play against Sodertalje (#8) and hope to secure a win.
