There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Granollers (10-11) edged on the road higher ranked Valls (12-8) 70-67 on Saturday. Ignasi Maspons (-1995) fired 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Arnau Murciano chipped in 11 points. Guard Oriol Besora (182-1997) produced 17 points and guard Raul Timoner (185-1997, college: Rio Grande) added 6 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Granollers moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Valls dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Zentro Basket and Eurogaza. Granollers will meet at home Pinta Castell (#12) in the next round where they are favorite. Valls will play against the league's second-placed Barca 2 (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
