There was no surprise when 10th ranked Titebi (5-11) was edged on the road by eighth ranked Kutaisi (7-9) 95-94 on Saturday. Kutaisi looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The former international swingman Kakhaber Jintcharadze (196-1993, agency: BIG) had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American center Chris Ware (203-1989, college: Indiana Tech) chipped in 20 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Kendrick Thompson (193-1986, college: Northeastern St.) with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals and forward Akaki Lomouri (198-1991) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Kutaisi and five Titebi players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains eighth position with 7-9 record. Loser Titebi keeps the tenth place with 11 games lost. Kutaisi will meet at home league's second-placed Rustavi in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Titebi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Olimpi.
