Regular Season Round 22: Sokol - Start 74-72

A very close game took place in Lancut between Sokol and Start. Fourteenth ranked Sokol (8-14) got a very close home victory over 12th ranked Start (7-14). Sokol managed to escape with a 2-point win 74-72 on Saturday evening. Strangely Start outrebounded Sokol 42-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Corey Sanders (188-1997, college: Rutgers) scored 6 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Adam Kemp (208-1990, college: Marist) chipped in 15 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) during the contest. Sokol's coach Marek Lukomski used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side forward Cleveland Melvin (203-1991, college: DePaul) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 16 rebounds and guard Gabe DeVoe (191-1995, college: Clemson, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Sokol moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Arka. Start lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with GTK. Sokol will meet Enea Astoria (#15) in the next round. Start will play against the league's leader WKS Slask having rather not much hope for a victory.
