We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Patras where eleventh ranked Apollon P. (4-14) smashed 10th ranked Ionikos (4-14) 93-66 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American guard Alonzo Verge Jr (190-1998, college: Nebraska) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. The other American import swingman Tevin Mack (198-1997, college: Clemson, agency: MSG) chipped in 20 points. Four Apollon P. players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-1984) who recorded 20 points and 9 rebounds and American-Dominican Angel Nunez (203-1991, college: S.Florida) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Apollon P. moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Ionikos and Karditsas. Ionikos lost third consecutive game. Apollon P. will meet higher ranked Kolossos HH (#8) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ionikos will play against Peristeri and hope to secure a win.
