There was a surprise result when sixth ranked Jaen (11-9) beat at home much higher ranked La Zubia (13-6) 80-69 on Saturday. They outrebounded La Zubia 39-25 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Javier Santabarbara (197-1995) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Dani Munoz (190-1987) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Jaen's coach used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Power forward Devin Wright (200-1986) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds and forward Eloy Almazan (199-1984) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Jaen moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Tenerife Naut. and Quintanar. Loser La Zubia dropped to the third position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Jaen will meet at home Eurogaza (#5) in the next round.
