Regular Season Round 24: Estudiantes - Zaragoza 76-63

The most shocking disappointment of round 24 was a road defeat of higher ranked Zaragoza (17-8) to eighth ranked Estudiantes (12-13) 76-63. They made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Estudiantes looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Maria Erauncetamurguil (185-1998) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and swingman Maria Espin (180-1989) who added 20 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) during the contest. The best for the losing side was German Leonie Fiebich (193-2000) with 15 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Mariona Ortiz (183-1992) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Estudiantes moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Cadi La Seu. Zaragoza at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Estudiantes is looking forward to face Ensino (#11) in Lugo in the next round where they are favorite. Zaragoza will play at home against Jairis (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
