No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Batumi (9-7) defeated at home bottom-ranked Vera (2-15) 98-85 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Batumi. Vera managed to win fourth quarter 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Vera's 34. They outrebounded Vera 54-31 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Batumi looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Vera's players. American power forward Jordan Session (203-1996, college: Georgia St.) had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Kyle Riddley (192-1996, college: Pfeiffer, agency: Project B Sports) chipped in 20 points and 12 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Vakhtang Gogberashvili (202-2002) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Luka Zakradze (193-1996) scored 22 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Batumi moved-up to fourth place. Vera lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Batumi will meet at home Mega (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Vera's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi TSU.
