Very important is a road loss of second ranked Scrivia (18-3) against thirteenth ranked Vicenza (5-15) on Sunday night. Visiting Scrivia was defeated by Vicenza in a tough game in Vicenza 66-72. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Scrivia. Vicenza forced 21 Scrivia turnovers. It was a good game for Slovenian guard Sara Vujacic (180-1996, college: Maryland) who led her team to a victory with 27 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Giorgia Amatori (175-2003) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Forward Carlotta Gianolla (184-1997, college: KSU, agency: LBM Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and Sofia Marangoni (177-1995) added 14 points and 5 assists in the effort for Scrivia. Four Scrivia players scored in double figures. Vicenza have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain thirteenth place with 5-15 record. Scrivia at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Costa Masnaga. Vicenza will play against higher ranked Alpo (#9) in Verona in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
