Regular Season Round 25: Victoria - Gomel 68-88

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Gomel (11-12) crushed 4th placed Victoria (10-12) in Grodno 88-68 on Sunday. Gomel forced 25 Victoria turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Daria Panasyuk (176-1996) nailed 27 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and power forward Olga Kopylova (187-1982) accounted for 17 points and 15 rebounds. Gomel's coach Anatol Rogozenko used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Elizaveta Shyshliuk (178-2005) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and guard Aleksandra Polubok (154-2006) added 12 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Victoria in the defeat. Gomel moved-up to fourth place. Victoria lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fifth position with 12 games lost. Gomel will meet bottom-ranked Gorizont 2 (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Victoria will play against Brest (#8) and hope to secure a win.
