Second Stage Round 2: Besancon - Toulouse 74-80

There was a surprise result when Toulouse defeated on the road Besancon 80-74 on Tuesday. Toulouse forced 22 Besancon turnovers. Point guard Victor Mopsus (179-1999) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the effort and naturalized Algerian point guard Samir Mekdad (191-1986) supported him with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds by the former international center Ferdinand Prenom (204-1991) did not help to save the game for Besancon. Mali point guard Siriman Kanoute (181-2001) added 10 points and 8 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Toulouse will meet at home Andrezieux in the next round where they are favorite. Besancon will play against Vendee Challans and hope to win that game.
