Regular Season Round 26: Victoria - Olimpia 28-78

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Grodno: Olimpia (#3) and Victoria (#5). Victoria was smashed at home by 50 points 28-78 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Olimpia held Victoria to an opponent 22.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 38.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Olimpia forced 26 Victoria turnovers and outrebounded them 49-34 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Victoria's players. Elizaveta Shishlyuk (-2005) notched 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and center Palina Damianiak (190-2005) supported her with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Olimpia players scored in double figures. Olimpia's coach Viktoryia Datsun felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 10 points and 4 blocks by guard Aleksandra Polubok (154-2006) did not help to save the game for Victoria. Maria Liaskouskaia (-2007) added 5 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Olimpia (19-2) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain third position having 2 victories less than leader Gorizont. Victoria lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 13 games lost.
