Bottom-ranked Catz Lappeenranta is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 26th consecutive match to sixth ranked Torpan Pojat (16-9) 99-61 on Wednesday evening. The game without a history. Torpan Pojat led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Catz Lappeenranta's 40. Torpan Pojat forced 19 Catz Lappeenranta turnovers and outrebounded them 54-27 including a 25-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by forward Iimari Thomas (178-2000, college: UCLA) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Iggy Allen (180-1998, college: ODU) supported her with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Torpan Pojat players scored in double figures. Even 19 points by guard Sydni Tears (183, college: Talladega) did not help to save the game for Catz Lappeenranta. Center Terri Battle (188-1999, college: Tampa) added 10 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Torpan Pojat have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 16-9 record. Loser Catz Lappeenranta still closes the standings. Torpan Pojat will meet at home Vimpelin Veto (#7) in the next round.
