Regular Season Round 26: Armann - Hamar 65-83

Very predictable result in Reykjavik where second ranked Hamar (21-5) defeated 9th ranked Armann (8-12) 83-65 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Hamar. Armann managed to win third quarter 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hamar had a 39-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international center Ragnar Nathanaelsson (220-1991) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. Slovenian point guard Mirza Sarajlija (187-1991) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Kristofer Gislason (194-1996) produced 17 points and 5 rebounds and American center William Thompson (203-1993, college: Felician) added 7 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Hamar have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 21-5 record behind leader Alftanes. Newly promoted Armann keeps the ninth place with 12 games lost. Hamar will meet at home Fjolnir (#6) in the next round. Armann will play against Selfoss and hope to secure a win.
