No shocking result in a game when thirteenth ranked WKK (14-16) crushed 17th ranked Turow (8-23) in Zgorzelec 101-79 on Thursday. WKK outrebounded Turow 43-25 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Maksymilian Wilczek (197-2004) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Forward Szymon Kiwilsza (201-1997) accounted for 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Swingman Szymon Pawlak (192-1998) came up with 15 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Michal Jedrzejewski (184-1998) added 14 points and 7 assists respectively for Turow in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for WKK. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Krosno. Turow lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventeenth position with 23 games lost. WKK will meet higher ranked Polonia (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Turow will play against the league's leader Gornik (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
