Regular Season Round 20: Thor Thorl - Tindastoll 93-90

The most exciting game of round 20 in the Subway League took place in Thorlakshofn. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Tindastoll (11-9) to seventh ranked Thor Thorl (9-11) 93-90 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Tindastoll. Tindastoll was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 28-27 charge of Thor Thorl, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Vinnie Shahid (180-1998, college: NDSU) who scored 23 points and 9 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). International swingman Styrmir Thrastarson (200-2001, college: Davidson, agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. Four Thor Thorl players scored in double figures. American Keyshawn Woods (192-1996, college: Ohio St.) produced 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Sigtryggur Bjornsson (180-1993, college: St.Mary's) added 21 points respectively for the guests. Thor Thorl maintains seventh position with 9-11 record. Tindastoll at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Thor Thorl are looking forward to face Stjarnan (#8) on the road in the next round. Tindastoll will play against KR and is hoping to win this game.
