Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Coruna (7-14) was defeated at home by second ranked Plasencia (16-5) 71-61 on Friday. Plasencia shot 28 for 42 from the free-throw line, while Coruna only scored nine points from the stripe. It was a great evening for Irene Viruel (-2000) who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Ana Moyano (166-1996) helped adding 16 points and 4 assists. Forward Andrea Perez (178-1993) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Lucia Galan scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Coruna's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Plasencia have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with CD Talent. Coruna at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Sevilla. Plasencia will meet Cortegada (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Coruna will play against Genero (#7) in Las Palmas and hope to secure a win.
