Regular Season Round 24: Lille - Quimper 91-69
Date: March 17, 2023
Very predictable result when fourth ranked Lille Metropole (16-8) rolled over at home 15th ranked Quimper UJAP (8-16) 91-69 on Friday. They outrebounded Quimper UJAP 52-25 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by Vincentian-Canadian forward Lien Phillip (203-1989, college: Windsor) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Gaetan Meyniel (189-2000) supported him with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Five Lille Metropole players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 9 rebounds by swingman Elhadji-Digue Diawara (206-1998) did not help to save the game for Quimper UJAP. Croatian center Ivan Vranes (207-1996, agency: Interperformances) added 14 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lille Metropole have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Boulazac. Quimper UJAP lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 16 games lost. Lille Metropole will meet ALM Evreux (#15) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Quimper UJAP will play against the league's leader Saint-Quentin and hope to secure a win.
