Regular Season Round 24: ASA - Orleans 94-91
Date: March 17, 2023
Rather expected game when 11th ranked Entente Orleans 45 (11-13) was edged by eighth ranked ASA (13-11) in Gries 94-91 on Friday. ASA shot 64.2 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by point guard Nathan De Sousa (191-2003, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored that evening 16 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and naturalized Spanish guard Tom Digbeu (195-2001) supported him with 16 points. ASA's coach Julien Espinosa used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 26 points and 8 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) by American guard Jonathan Stark (184-1995, college: Murray St., agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Entente Orleans 45. Croatian guard Toni Perkovic (191-1998, agency: AltusBasket) added 15 points and 4 assists. Five ASA and four Entente Orleans 45 players scored in double figures. ASA have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain eighth position with 13-11 record. Loser Entente Orleans 45 dropped to the ninth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Nantes and Angers. ASA will meet Etoile Angers (#9) on the road in the next round. Entente Orleans 45 will play against La Rochelle and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the Betclic ELITE ProA just one year after relegation.
