LEB Silver top team - Burgos (23-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat ninth ranked Real Canoe (9-14) 92-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Real Canoe. Burgos made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Real Canoe 43-22 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Didac Cuevas (178-2000) who scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Joe Cremo (193-1996, college: Villanova) chipped in 17 points. Forward Gabriel Gil (200-2001) produced 13 points and 6 rebounds and Alfonso Ortiz (190-1999) added 17 points respectively for the guests. Four Real Canoe players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the thirteenth consecutive win for Burgos. They maintain first place with 23-1 record. Loser Real Canoe dropped to the tenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Huesca. Burgos will meet at home Melilla (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Real Canoe will play against Zornotza and hope to secure a win.
