Regular Season Round 23: Tarragona - Olivar 79-71

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Tarragona (14-8) won against at home 10th ranked Olivar (9-12) 79-71 on Saturday. They outrebounded Olivar 43-32 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Senegalese forward Ousmane Ndour (205-2005) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds. Point guard David Fernandez (179-1991) helped adding 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Gonzalo Rodriguez (192-2004) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and guard Miguel Flores (183-2004) scored 14 points and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Tarragona. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Olivar dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Fuenlabrada 2 and Aridane. Tarragona will meet Esparreguera (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Olivar will play against Navas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
