Regular Season Round 28: Impuls BGUIR - Rubon 70-96

The game in Minsk supposed to be also worth to mention about. Third ranked Rubon (18-10) played at the court of 5th ranked Impuls BGUIR (8-18). Rubon smashed Impuls BGUIR 96-70. Rubon dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Impuls BGUIR's 28. Rubon forced 29 Impuls BGUIR turnovers. Strangely Impuls BGUIR outrebounded Rubon 41-28 including 17 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Maksim Shustov (187-1986) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 assists and the former international forward Victor Ovsepyan (202-1991) who added 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Rubon players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international guard Siarhei Vabishchevich (191-1988) responded with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Mikita Dashkevich (178-2001) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Impuls BGUIR's coach Fedor Rodenko gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Rubon have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 18-10 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Tsmoki-Minsk U20. Impuls BGUIR lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 18 games lost. Rubon will play against league's leader Borisfen in Mogilev in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Impuls BGUIR will play on the road against Gomel (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
