Second Stage Round 1: Mladost - Stoja Pula 84-70

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Stoja Pula's road loss to Mladost 70-84 on Saturday. Mladost dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Stoja Pula's 40. Mladost forced 21 Stoja Pula turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Guard Luka Mrsic (193-2002) stepped up and scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and forward Vice Zanki (201-2004) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Mladost players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Marin Djugum (201-1996) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and center Niko Travica (201-1998, college: Cardinal Stritch) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Mladost will meet Samobor on the road in the next round. Stoja Pula will play against Sonik P. in Zadar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
