Very expected game when 9th ranked Zgierz (14-13) was smashed on the road by first ranked LKS Lodz (26-1) 105-71 on Saturday. LKS Lodz made 19-of-20 free shots (95.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Zgierz turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Bartosz Wrobel (190-1995) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Norbert Kulon (187-1992) accounted for 26 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winning side. LKS Lodz's coach Piotr Zych felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mateusz Cwirko-Godycki (195-1999) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and guard Robert Kowalski (178-1988) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively for Zgierz in the defeat. Four LKS Lodz and five Zgierz players scored in double figures. The victory was the seventeenth consecutive win for LKS Lodz. They maintain first place with 26-1 record. Newly promoted Zgierz dropped to the sixth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Zary. LKS Lodz will meet league's second-placed Notec Inowr. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Zgierz will play against Pabianice (#10) and hope to secure a win.
