Regular Season Round 24: Albacete - Ourense 66-74

There was no surprise when 16th ranked Albacete (5-19) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Ourense (8-16) 74-66 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian guard Augustas Peciukevicius (193-1991) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 9 rebounds and guard Jose Urtasun (186) who added 12 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Ourense players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Ivan Aurrecoechea (204-1995, college: NM State) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Guillem Ferrando (186-2002) scored 15 points and 6 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Ourense maintains twelfth position with 8-16 record. Albacete lost fifth consecutive game. Albacete at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixteenth place with 19 games lost. They share the position with Iraurgi SB. Ourense will meet at home higher ranked Valladolid (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Albacete will play against Caceres (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
