Rather expected game when 14th ranked Bolzano AV (4-19) was smashed by eleventh ranked Ponzano (7-16) in Veneto 71-40 on Saturday. Ponzano held Bolzano AV to an opponent 24.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.7 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Bolzano AV 46-31 including a 37-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Swedish swingman Amanda Tivenius (182-1996, college: CS Fullerton) notched 14 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Milena Mioni (184-2001) supported her with 13 points. Ponzano's coach Matteo Gambarotto felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds by center Meriem Nasraoui (183-2002) did not help to save the game for Bolzano AV. Point guard Sofia De Marchi (171-2001) added 3 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Ponzano have a solid three-game winning streak.
