Regular Season Round 26: Prievidza - Iskra Svit 77-79

Seventh-ranked Prievidza (9-19) made lots of trouble for second ranked Iskra Svit (18-10) on Saturday. The visitors from Svit managed to secure only two-point victory 79-77. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Prievidza. The best player for the winners was American swingman TJ Atwood (198-1997, college: Lamar) who scored 27 points. The other American import point guard Tavon King (180-1997, college: Cumberland) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American guard Jamari Wheeler (185-1997, college: Ohio St.) produced 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian forward Dusan Hukic (210-1993) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Iskra Svit and four Prievidza players scored in double figures. Iskra Svit maintains second position with 18-10 record having just two points less than leader Spisski Rytieri. Prievidza at the other side keeps the seventh place with 19 games lost. Iskra Svit are looking forward to face Lucenec (#5) at home in the next round. Prievidza will play against the league's leader Spisski Rytieri in Nova Ves and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
