Regular Season Round 23: Aridane - Cortegada 55-59

Very predictable result in Los Llanos where seventh ranked Cortegada (11-9) beat 13th ranked Aridane (3-18) 59-55 on Saturday. It was a great evening for Sara Corredoira (-2000) who led her team to a victory scoring 12 points and 6 rebounds. Serbian center Vladinka Erak (192-1984) helped adding 13 points. Ana Fernandez (175-1993, college: Canisius) responded with 23 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and naturalized Gibraltar Marta Perez (-2000) scored 13 points. Cortegada moved-up to sixth place. Aridane lost ninth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Cortegada will meet at home league's second-placed Plasencia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aridane will play against Barakaldo (#10) in Vizcaya and hope to secure a win.
