There was no surprise when 14th ranked Monopoli AN (6-17) was edged by fourth ranked Sant Antimo (16-7) in Napoli 84-81 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Sant Antimo outrebounded Monopoli AN 42-30 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Guido Scali (195-1998, agency: SLN) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Roberto Maggio (183-1990) accounted for 22 points for the winning side. Nicola Bastone (195-1992) came up with 19 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Riccardo Ballabio (180-1998) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Monopoli AN in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sant Antimo maintains fourth place with 16-7 record, which they share with Piombino. Monopoli AN lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. They share it with R.Calabria. Sant Antimo will meet Teramo (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
