Very expected game when 14th ranked Borgomanero (7-16) was smashed on the road by fourth ranked Piombino (16-7) 94-69 on Sunday. It was an exceptional evening for center Edoardo Tiberti (203-1997) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Mattia Venucci (185-1990, agency: SLN) accounted for 10 points and 9 assists for the winning side. Daniele Benzoni (194-1980) came up with 12 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Stefano Longo (192-2003) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Borgomanero in the defeat. Five Piombino and four Borgomanero players scored in double figures. Borgomanero's coach Stefano Di Cerbo gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Piombino maintains fourth place with 16-7 record, which they share with Sant Antimo. Loser Borgomanero keeps the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Bergamo. Piombino will meet Casale Libertas (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Borgomanero will play against Langhe Roero and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
