Regular Season Round 23: Pas Pielagos - Solares 94-93

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Renedo de Pielagos where 10th ranked Solares (8-14) was edged by eleventh ranked Pas Pielagos (8-14) 94-93 on Sunday. Strangely Solares outrebounded Pas Pielagos 42-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for forward Pablo Fernandez (201-2000) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points. Forward Luis Gomez (195-2000) helped adding 15 points and 7 assists. Pas Pielagos' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American center Julien Sargent (211-1991, college: Mobile, AL) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and Diego Garcia (192-2000) scored 25 points and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Pas Pielagos have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Solares. Pas Pielagos will meet Ardoi (#12) in the next round. Solares will play against the league's leader LBC Cocinas and will have a slim chance for a victory.
