Regular Season Round 23: Novaschool - Murgi 62-76

There was an upset in Malaga where higher ranked Novaschool (8-12) was defeated by eleventh ranked Murgi (7-13) 76-62 on Sunday. Murgi looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Angel Rubino (-2000) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Bernardo Gimenez (-2002) helped adding 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Murgi players scored in double figures. Power forward Ruben Salas (207-2003) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and center Chema del Rio (203-1991) scored 4 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Murgi moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Novaschool keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Majadahonda. Murgi will meet league's second-placed Oh!Tels ULB in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Novaschool will play against La Zubia (#4) and hope to secure a win.
