Regular Season Round 22: Treviso - Scafati 89-88
Date: March 19, 2023
Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Treviso (10-12) edged at home 13th ranked Scafati (7-15) 89-88 on Sunday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Treviso made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Scafati turnovers. Nigerian point guard Ike Iroegbu (188-1995, college: WSU) fired 19 points for the winners. American center Octavius Ellis (208-1993, college: Cincinnati) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Treviso players scored in double figures. American-Polish guard David Logan (185-1982, college: Indianapolis) produced 21 points and American center Trevor Thompson (210-1994, college: Ohio St., agency: Octagon Europe) added 14 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) respectively for lost side. Scafati's coach Attilio Caja rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Treviso maintains ninth position with 10-12 record, which they share with Venezia. Scafati lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Treviso will meet higher ranked Brindisi (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Scafati will play against Trieste (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
