Regular Season Round 23: Granollers - Pinta Castell 62-70

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Granollers (10-12) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Pinta Castell (9-13) 70-62 on Sunday. It was a great evening for Rafa Gomez (-1999) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Eloi Barrasa (178-1996) helped adding 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Pinta Castell players scored in double figures. Pol Cervantes responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Alejandro Castro (179-1991) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pinta Castell moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Granollers keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Filipenses. Pinta Castell will meet at home Helios (#14) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Granollers will play against Martinenc (#6) in Barcelona and hope to secure a win.
