Rather expected game when 5th ranked Brest (11-13) lost to second ranked Rubon II (14-9) in Vitebsk 60-74 on Sunday. Rubon II outrebounded Brest 63-46 including a 25-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by point guard Anton Makhanovskiy (170-2005) who scored that evening 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Nikita Borodin (202-2002) supported him with 10 points and 16 rebounds. Rubon II's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists by guard Vladislav Lagodich (180-2002) did not help to save the game for Brest. Center Gleb Bigun (204-2004) added 15 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks for lost side. Five Rubon II and four Brest players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Rubon II maintains second position with 14-9 record having nine points less than leader Tsmoki-Minsk U20. Brest lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 13 games lost. Rubon II's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Vitebsk to the arena Vitebsk.
