Very significant was Kouvot's (#6) 94-80 road victory against 5th ranked Kotka. Kotka was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 54-38 second half run of Kouvot. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Kotka's 32. American forward John Meeks (198-1999, college: Charleston) notched 32 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and forward Joel Mantynen (199-2002, agency: Blacktop Management) supported him with 27 points and 9 rebounds. Even 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists by American forward Jordan Giles (198-1998, college: UMKC, agency: One Motive Sports) did not help to save the game for Kotka. His fellow American import point guard Brandon Sly (180-1996, college: ASU) added 21 points and 5 assists for lost side. Kouvot (15-17) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pyrinto. Kotka lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Lahti.
