There was no surprise when 3rd ranked Vitre (2-2) was defeated on the road by top-ranked SPO Rouen (4-0) 85-79 on Friday. SPO Rouen outrebounded Vitre 31-20 including a 13-0 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard William Mensah (175-1995) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and American-Jamaican Andell Cumberbatch (195-1993, college: St.Bonaventure) who added 15 points during the contest. At the losing side Swiss guard Noah Burrell (193-1997) responded with 18 points and point guard Louis Prolhac (177-1991) scored 13 points and 7 assists. Four Vitre players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. SPO Rouen have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record, which they share with Lorient. Loser Vitre keeps the third place with two games lost. They share the position with 9 other teams. SPO Rouen will meet C'Chartres (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Vitre will play against Mulhouse and hope to secure a win.
